Dr. Lauren Delisio is an educator, scholar, and advocate with over 20 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs. She holds a PhD in Special Education and is committed to helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through individualized, research-informed support.

Lauren began her career as a classroom teacher, spending ten years working directly with students across a range of ages and abilities. These experiences grounded her work in the realities of schools and shaped her belief that meaningful progress happens when instruction is responsive, strengths-based, and rooted in strong relationships.

She later served for eleven years as a college professor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, preparing future educators and special education professionals for inclusive and specialized settings. Known for her mentorship and ability to connect research with real-world practice, many of her former students credit her guidance as a defining influence in their careers.

Lauren has published three book chapters and numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented nationally and locally on topics related to inclusive education and special education practice. Her areas of expertise include autism, specific learning disabilities, ADHD, speech and language needs, assistive technology and AAC, Universal Design for Learning, transition planning, trauma-informed instruction, and social-emotional learning.

Today, Lauren works collaboratively with students, families, schools, and districts, offering academic support, behavioral consultation, professional development, and advocacy services. Her work is guided by a simple belief: when students are understood and supported, meaningful growth is possible.
